Why Check IRMAA exists

Retirement, reduced work or another qualifying event can change income without immediately changing the figures used for Medicare premiums. Our focus is this specific IRMAA paperwork problem, not broad Medicare coverage advice.

The tool turns your answers into prepared SSA-44 paperwork, a supporting-document checklist and filing instructions. The aim is clearer next steps while keeping you in control of the information submitted.

Check IRMAA is software, not a named staff reviewer, law firm or government office. It prepares a packet from your answers using the service’s supported 2026 Medicare IRMAA and SSA-44 rules. That is why the site uses clear disclaimers: this is document preparation and self help, not legal, tax or benefits advice, and Social Security makes the final decision.

How the automated process works

Check the entered situation. The free check evaluates the selected life event, income and filing-status inputs against the service’s supported 2026 rules. This is not an SSA determination.
Prepare the paperwork. Your answers fill the official SSA-44 form. The system requires the official form to be available and verifies the form and guide are included in the generated PDF.
Match the evidence instructions. The guide includes supporting-document requirements for your selected event and directs you to official SSA submission resources. We do not inspect or certify your evidence documents.
You review and submit. You verify dates, income estimates and every prepared field, add your SSN yourself, sign and attach evidence. If a product question is unclear, email support. For rules outside the tool’s scope, ask SSA or a qualified adviser.
